The world’s most underwhelming tourist attraction is ‘not worth the price’ | Travel News | Travel

Ever felt disappointed by a holiday? You’re not alone. According to a study from Vision Direct, there are several top tourist attractions that have left visitors completely underwhelmed.

The most underwhelming tourist attraction in the world is the Berlin TV Tower in Germany’s capital city.

According to the team’s research, over 25 percent of people gave the Tower a bad review on Tripadvisor with “expensive”, “poor” and “overcrowded” often used in negative reviews.

‘Afroditi B’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “The place is overcrowded, you feel like you are suffocating as there are too many people around you, long queues everywhere and honestly not something that I would recommend.”

‘Chris D’ said: “Not worth the price. Pointed out the main buildings in Berlin but a bit underwhelming. Too many children out of control making it hard to enjoy.”

Built by the East German Government in the 1960s, the Berlin TV Tower was designed as a broadcasting facility and a show of Soviet power.

Today, tourists can head to the viewing tower and observation deck for views of the city or eat at its rotating restaurant.

The Moulin Rouge in Paris was the second most underwhelming attraction with over 25 percent of its Tripadvisor reviews scored negatively.

Known as the birthplace of the can-can dance, the Moulin Rouge cabaret became even more famous after it was featured in the 2001 Baz Luhrmann film.

Despite being top of many tourists’ bucket lists, many tourists complained about the cost of the attraction compared to the experience.

That didn’t stop Paris being named this year’s leading city break destination in a new ranking from the team at Euromonitor.
