Travelling on a cruise ship can be a memorable and exciting experience. 

With a combination of travel, relaxation, adventure and luxury all in one, it can be a great way to explore the world.

Now a veteran cruiser has advised travellers not to miss a few things while travelling on the cruise. 

Cruise ships are known for their abundant buffet-style dining options, which are typically available throughout the day. 

These self-service buffers offer a wide range of choices – from salads and sandwiches to hot entrees, pasta and international cuisines. 

Many ships have speciality restaurants featuring international cuisines, casual dining and even room service. 

Daniel Klien, an expert cruiser, shared some tips on The Street that make your cruise a little better. 

Mr. Klien has advised the travellers to try different things on the food menu while on the cruise. 

The expert said that one should “eat things you have never had and may not like.”

He said: “Cruise ships offer essentially endless dining. You can eat dinner in the main dining room and then go have snacks at the buffet. 

“And while some cruise lines place limits on how many entrees you can order at a time or even have added small charges for a third, you can generally try all the appetizers, and sides you like.

“Eat the octopus. Have an escargot. Try a vegetable you don’t normally eat. 

“There’s no shame in not liking something and, if you open your mind to trying things, you may find a new favourite.”

Sharing another important tip, the expert advised the travellers to enjoy the new experience and mingle with everyone at the ship. 

Mr Klien spoke about one of his encounters with a stranger at a cruise ship and how it turned to be a memorable experience.

He said: “There was one night on Celebrity Summit when I was watching my guitarist friend Sam Ensuque play at the Sunset Bar as the sun set. 

“A group of Canadian cruisers saw me, and dragged me onto the dance floor, a very unlikely activity for me. 

“After letting at least some abandon go, Sam finished his set, we left, and then bumped into the same group for dinner, joining our tables, and having a wonderful evening.”
