NTPC Green Q3 results live: NTPC Renewable Energy secures 300MW Solar Project in NHPC Tender
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has won a significant 300MW solar project in an e-reverse auction conducted by NHPC Limited on January 23, 2025. The company secured the project at a competitive tariff of ₹3.09 per kilowatt-hour, as part of NHPC’s larger 1200 MW solar power development initiative.
The tender, designed for Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) connected solar power projects, includes a unique requirement for energy storage systems. NTPC REL’s winning bid includes establishing a 150MW/300MWh Energy Storage System, which will enhance the project’s reliability and operational efficiency. The project was awarded under a tariff-based competitive bidding process with a green shoe option, highlighting the strategic importance of renewable energy expansion in India.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, NTPC REL is currently awaiting the official Letter of Award (LOA) from NHPC Limited.
